Yongxing Special Stainless Steel Research Institute was established in October 2011, with the main research and development direction of advanced materials such as special stainless steel and corrosion-resistant alloys characterized by corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance. The achievements are mainly applied in the fields of oil extraction and refining, large-scale thermal power and nuclear power plants, etc., achieving the localization of high-end metal materials.

At present, the Institute has 3 professors and professor level senior engineers, 10 senior engineers, and nearly 50 engineers, including one State Council subsidized expert, one provincial "151" second and third level talent, and one municipal the Taihu Lake Lake distinguished expert. The CNAS laboratory is equipped with advanced equipment and software such as ZEISS scanning electron microscopy, various ZEISS microscopes, multiple 0BLF direct reading spectrometers, HORIBR oxygen and nitrogen meters, and high-temperature material testing machines. Its capabilities include defect analysis, chemical and spectral analysis, gas analysis, high-low magnification testing, corrosion testing, high-temperature and room temperature mechanical testing, non-destructive testing, etc.

Effective scientific research work

Relying on the platform of its parent company, China's leading stainless steel rod and wire enterprise, the research institute has carried out effective scientific research work, with an annual research and development cost of over 100 million yuan. Hosted or participated in the development of 11 national standards, completed over 30 national and provincial scientific research projects, won 10 provincial and municipal science and technology awards, and holds 11 invention patents. The large-scale thermal power materials represented by the national key high-tech product TP347H have been selected by the three major power companies in China, Dongfang Boiler, Harbin Boiler, and Shanghai Electric; The application of nuclear power materials in the reactor internals of Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant and the valves of Chashma Nuclear Power Plant; N08825 corrosion-resistant alloy has been used for the first time as a substitute for imported materials in a 10 million ton high-pressure hydrogenation unit for oil refining; The domestic market share of duplex stainless steel rod and wire, which is responsible for formulating national standards, exceeds 50%. In the future, the research institute will focus on super austenitic stainless steel, super duplex stainless steel, and nickel based corrosion-resistant alloys. Through exploring the behavior of materials in use, the institute will study the usability, reliability, durability, life expectancy, and life extension measures of materials, and promote Yongxing Special Steel to become a world-class research and production base for high-quality stainless steel and special alloy materials, and become the first choice for customers.
